Believe it or not, I actually am a writer (and also music ed at Live Magazine). Though I may just write one sentence about an artist or song on this blog purely because I want my blog to focus on the music and not my spiel, I can actually put together a rather half-decent article, so I'm told lol.
This is my latest article online, Cover Drive album review. It's not massively long but nevertheless, ever so informative on the band's debut album release. Click the picture to have a looksy.
Unbelievable musically shwag from rapper-singer-songwriter Joshua Collard.
I've been watching him musically for quite a while now but have layed off blogging about him because, as I'm sure you know, good things come to those who wait and look, here it is! I see mad potential in this guy, he's got some understated talent and ora about him, plus I DEFINITELY don't think he's shown us completely what he's capture of yet which is always an exciting thing.
He's also part of the Last Night In Paris crew as well so remember, Rainy's not the only one you need to watch out for ;)
First debut single from David Stewart. Because of the way this guy looks (he's pretty!) it would have been so easy for him to put out a straight mediocre pop tune and gain on the teens (me!) as fans but I LOVE that he came out with something pretty unpredictable (well at least I didnt think he'd come out with something like this) and insanely great that makes me like him even more.
ARGH as much as I think this is a good song I WISH they choose something else for the new single, I've had the privilege of listening to the whole album and some of the other songs on there really deserve an intensely creative visual but hey, maybe the next single?
Anywho, I love me some Sam Sparro. His tone, his lyrics, his vocal swag and general creativity. Cool Michael Jackson esk video for the new single - I highly encourage you to buy the album when its out, its a musical gem.
Purple Ferdinand! First started blogging about his 23 year old tattoo artist/singer-songwriter last year August and today a track of hers has surfaced that is positively stunning titled Beautiful Anomaly.
This is just SO pure, I love that her outside seems quite hard due to the tattoos/piercing but she comes out with this timid and endearing voice. Such an interesting juxtaposition - Love this girl!
New something something from 17 year old rapper Showerz. I fully believe this is just a warm up to give you a snippet of what he's fully capable of - this is the taster so get excited for the main course.
This is available on Itunes so you can cop da ting right HERE.
YES - new Aluna George! Just saw these guys are added to the Wireless Festival line up as well, I'm definitely going, gotta see these cool cats in action.
This is their newly showcased tune from one their EP You Know You Like It which is available now actually so cop da ting HERE. They just seem like such a fearless duo, doing their own thang and watching as everyone catches on. I love the pop-funk-house movement that is going on right now, the quality is so high and the sounds are so complex, you have a different element every new tune you hear it.
Gotta LOVE Nelly Furtado, she has the tightest sense of quality control and I LOVE IT! Not pooping out an album every 6 months is the way to go when you're as talented as her, right to keep us waiting! New single producted by DarkChild, loving the gritty break beat element. New album in June! BOOM.
Feels like AGES since I first blogged about Kyra back in August last year but its great to see her growth, its probably my favourite thing about music, seeing an artist's growth.
Here's the diva in the making's first single featuring Cashtastic with Knox Brown on production! Got her signature radiating vocals and just forms a warm mellow vibe in your heart - great indication of what else is to come!
Its incredible and very inspiring to see how Mahalia's career is going from strength to strength. I'm so excited to see hear grow as a person that I'm sure will develop into some hella-beautiful music. And of course, Josh is amaze-balls, great collabo!
Ive been rinsing Azari & III's album ever since I bought it all those months ago. I normally go through phrases with albums where one song for a certain amount of time is my favourite on the album and now this is the phrase of Into The Night.
The Canadian group just form a sound of indescribable disco-funk freshness that is just EPIC. May god they are just amazing.
One of the main things I love when I listen to a rapper or MC is personality. When you can hear their personality through their delivery whether they're the most outgoing person or shyest person, personality is interesting and Koder has buckets of it. Also like that he bigs up his friends without being so extremely bait about it, clever.
I have been looking for an amazing remix of Usher Climax for AGESSSSS now and finally one surfaces that is just that, amazing! Yes to DJ Naughty for making this progressive house/dance mix over da ting.
Been looking for this track for AGES and finally it found its way to me.
So I was ranting on twitter at how I couldnt find it then someone on twitter tweeted me the link which made me look like a bit of an idiot but *shrugs shoulders* - all in good fun. SICK Afrobeats tune from Mista Silva - WOOP!
Well thats annoying - new track from Lulu James goes up but turns out it went up by mistake so was taken down immediately, sad times indeed but nevertheless theres still some tunes from her that you definitely need to hear.
Lulu James is bringing it man! She's got that dark - as she calls it - 21st Century Soul - twang about her, which I so much enjoy - keep an eye out for her or if thats to long, just keep watching this blog because as long as she keeps making good tunes, it'll be on here! Her EP Rope Mirage is available to pre-order here.
Another cool cover from Ryan Parrott & The Rumours. D'Banji himself actually twitter big'ed them up the other week for their Oliver Twist cover - not bad ah!? Will Rita Ora do the same for this cover? Who knows *shrugs shoulders* - ethier way, they did the tune justice.
Yes to the way I just shouting 'OH MY GOD!' when I saw this tune on my soundcloud timeline. I first blogged about Sinead back in May last year, she hasn't really released much material since and righty so as this girl has way to much talent to just be chucking at people - she left us wanting more and BOY am I happy she did.
DISCLOSURE!!!! She's on a Disclosure track!!! Oh my word they're are some of the sickest producers. Props to Disclosure for getting her on this and always props to Sinead! This and the Jessie Ware track below has made my night musically - I'm in my element of full happiness right now - LOVE!
I've been blogging about Ebru since day one on this blog, I've been a HUGE fan for ages now and its so exciting to see her evolve and grow as an artist. Her acoustics in particular strike a chord with me as she just has that voice that radiates through your speakers you know? And shes so theatrical as well! Love her.
SICK minialist house remix of Lianne (beautiful name!) La Havas's single Lost & Found. Like a midnight soul kinda of vibe also, I'm already thinking of the video for this in my head - I love songs that conger up imagery. Props to Lapalux on this!

Introducing the sweet-sexy-retro-alternative-coolness of Brighton bred, now London resident, Ja Ja! With her signature purple hair, slink voice and generally ultra suave approach to music, Ja Ja is doing it for me right now.
I first meet/heard of the 19 year old around this time last year at an event I was involved in. I think it was like her first performance, a few mishaps but she kept it together - ever since I've been watching her musically and its AMAZING to see how much she's grown.
She's part of the incredibly exclusive Last Night In Paris gang full of artists, if of which I've blogged about, (my picks are Tee/Rainy Milo/Joshi Collard/KC/XXYYXX), producers, designers and all around creatives that seem to be starting a movement right now. I've blogged about a few members of the group and I'm sure as they release more music I wil continue to blog about them as they seem like a group that just thrive off each others talent which is immense in terms of creating ace music.
Theres more music from Ja Ja to come but for a taster, check out some of her music below. LOVE the artwork as well - all LNIP.
Came across this cool-ass cover by Brooklyn singer Ashton Parson via twitter the other day - whatta soulful twist on Azealia's hit and a nice mash up with Fun's new tune - it's like pop but with buckets more of shwaaag! So funky, fresh and carefree.
Taking a softer approach to R&B (I know! How much softer can you get with R&B? lol But hey, its here!) - Philadelphia singer-songwriter Jade Alston debuts her first visuals from up and coming mixtape Single On Saturday Night. I like this - very light and breathy, not giving to much anyway. Leaves you wondering what's next which is always what an artist should do...
Nice track and video from London R&B artist D Walker. This track just screams America, the vibe, the styling, the video as a whole. Wow don't take that as a negative! It's cool. Props to him for bringing something different to the tabla! Nice.
My friend posted this on his facebook minutes ago and me being my usual music-inclined-nosey-self I clicked play and was pleased with what came out my speakers so of course, I have to share this with the world. New debut statement single from 18 year old UK rapper Clixx featuring Ayo.
Came across this girl today. A singer-songwriter from Stockholm (gotta love the Sweds!) by the name of Fanny. Bold I know! Apparently she used to be in a massive girl group called Play that toured with the likes of Destiny's Child and N'Sync. Not bad for a 12 year old at the time but I care more about her now solo stuff.
Now on a solo path she ditched the major labels and went with a small indie label to put out tunes such as this! I'm liking her songs a lot, they've got like an electro-pop soul kinda vibe - very 21st Century darkness. I'm excited for the album.
It's the last of Rax's The Black Crook Project :O!!!!!!!!!!! 1 video. Every 2 weeks. For 6 months. That went fast - dang! Could this be my favourite video of them all? Then again I was feeling Gingerbread Man, LMAO was pretty sick too, OMG what about Slow Motion Video *dances*? Or WE'LL SEE?!
So many great songs, great production, great LYRICS from Rax's TBCP, to say the least I'm super proud of the project as it promotes the essential need for consistency but also intense quality control. *Salute to you Rax*.
So many lyrics to quote from this that I absolutely loved but these were particularly stand out - 'dont be a second grade them, be a first grade you' - 'they still telling me I'm loca but most people afraid of what they dont know' - 'From birth certificate to death certificate until the I'm erased I represent my syndicate!' SICCCCCK.
It's Vince Kidd so how could I not love this but the production on this is SICKARY. Yep - sickary. Makes me pull that ugly face. You know, the ugly face when you hear a sick song and your face goes all nassssssty. Everyone has one! Jessie J is a perfect example of someone who pulls a sick ugly face.
Finally the EP of New York rapper/singer Kilo Kish has been released. I wrote about the artist early this year from his track titled Navy produced by my favourite production duo at the moment, The Internet, surfaced on the web. Now shes released a full EP - loving the minimalist rap style.
ARGH! OMG. Cant believe March is over. This is crazy - this year is going extremely fast but nevertheless the amazing music keeps coming. In case you missed some signature posts that definitely need listening to here are some highlights of the month (which are super hard to pick because everything on this blog is worth the attention of your ears but through strength I managed to narrow it down).
