In the wake of D'Angelo's album being released today the whole world is on a smooth vibe today I think! In keeping with the spirit of that Nick Price gives us his Neo Soul gem Naked Souls. I have pure love for this track!
Over the years of Buzzinunlimited Vanessa Elisha has made regular appearances. I love her slick R&B tracks that I guess you could put in the same boat of artists like Tinashe. Now the Australia native lends her vocals to British producer Salute on this track Real Cool. It's super sweet!
I was lucky enough to come across this artist today called Alo Lee. The US native now living in London is delivering sweet R&B with a little help production wise from her friends across the pond. Check her out!
Everyone knows that I'm a massive fan of M.O and my admiration for them continues to grow with every release they have. This release comes in the form of a feature on Linden Jay's refix of Destiny's Child Bug A Boo. Linden Jay has toed the line brilliantly on this reminding you of the original but cementing his own style. Love love!
Soul electronic duo Shelter Point from Nottingham have quickly been gaining some popularity on the WWW with their down-tempo style. The pair's effortless tracks have had the support of I-D and Zane Lowe for which I can see why as the music is a nice contrast to the fist-pumping massive out right now. These's tracks are a great way to end the year leading to the release of the EP next year - bring it on!!!
It's been a cool two years since Teresa Jenee last put some of her tracks online. With no warning she disappeared from the music world but now the St Louis native makes a return to the web with powerful track Tahitian Vanilla produced by The Eclectic Beings. Here's hoping it's the first in many more tracks to come.
Leeds born singer-songwriter Michael Bird is most definitely providing some great vibes for me today. I came across his soundcloud a few days back and since then I keep coming back to it replaying this All I Do cover and down-tempo track I Care. Absolutely loving this right now!
Feisty 17 year old Raye has made quite the impression on me. After posting her first track 'Need Me' a couple weeks ago she now debuts another track off her 'Welcome To Winter' EP titled Bet U Wish. I love her bond attitude and confidence on the track which is so refreshing coming from someone at such a young age.
Lord knows I love me some Leo Kalyan and in true Leo style he drops a track then disappears to make more magic. This month he returned in the form of a feature on a track from another Buzzinunlimited favourite, XO, titled Pulling Me Under. These two combined of course smashed it but now he's back on his own with new track Stranger with added production from Shift Key. Love it!
Thank the lord that Zed Bias is finally releasing his own material. For years now I've been a fan of Zed Bias's remixes but now the famed producer is releasing his own tracks beginning with this song titled 'Shizam' featuring Scrufizzer and Stylo G. It stays true to Zed's signature bouncy style and I love itttttt!
Isn't it strange when you see someone you think you know but you're not sure from where so you don't say anything? - Yep that happened with Kiko Bun and I. I saw him in my office once and knew I recognised him from somewhere but it wasn't until he appeared on my twitter feed today that I realised where. I'd seen his soundcloud before but while in a rush so I didn't get a chance to listen which was 100% a mistake as I have been missing out on the great music this man has been making. I can't wait to hear more.
Out of all the new producer based artists coming out right now One Bit are one that I'm really excited about. Not only do that produce but the vocal on their tracks comes from the guys as well making the tracks completely theirs. I'm really liking this latest track 'Won't Hold Back' - check it out below.
Here comes another artist appearing out of no where with a sweet track but no information about them on the web at all! This frustrating me but I understand, like the song below sometimes it's good to be minimal. This is Say by Elah.
Shockingly it's been over a year since I first blogged about the beautifully talented Chloe Black. Since the Australian born UK resident has been playing shows and working with the likes of The Arcade (Iggy), Balistiq, Jim Eliot (Ellie Goulding) and more to create a collection of powerful songs. This first track from the collection, 27 Club, is a demonstration of that. Inspired by the greats who passed away at 27 - never holding back Chloe approaches the dark subject with a sense of nostalgia. A great track!
This right here feels like a long time coming. I've been aware of Ryan Ashley for a long while now from when he started posting covers online. With the covers I was never too sure what direction he'd go in but since joining the PMR team he's been cultivating his sound. With features on tracks from Blonde (sick!) and Cyril Hahn Ashley is now ready for the solo limelight. This debut track Hands perfectly shows that!
I last blogged about the super talented Brayton a few months back with his track Jaywalk. Now the Philly native brings us another delight in the form of new single 'Runaway'. The track perfectly toes the line of funk and pop, it's a complete breath of fresh air.
I've been a fan of Kaleem Taylor for years now, in the past his music has mostly been R&B which I liked but wasn't really going to cross him over to the mainstream but with a feature like this it could definitely help him bridge the gap. Love it! French producer Tchami on the 1s and 2s here.
After the creation and unfortunate break up of reggae-pop inspired girl group SoundGirl it was very unclear what the members would do next. The youngest of the group, Little Nikki went on to sign to Columbia and release a few tracks without really having a hit. Now it's time for another member, Liv, to step into the solo spotlight. The insanely attractive singer seems to be taken an electronic route which I'm really diggin.
Absolutely loving this cover right here from Annalisa Walters. Currently in college Annalisa seems to be practising her vocal talent with covers such as this but I'm super excited to hear some original material when it's ready.
UK born but NYC inspired singer Espa is shaking up the music industry right now. This track, produced by Shift Key & Todd Edwards is the second track from her '150th & Broadway' EP. I'm really feeling it - it's got a cool trip-hop energy that just sticks with you.
I've had my eye on London based artist Secaina Hudson for a while now, I've long known her as a great songwriter and had hoped she'd come to the forefront and it looks like now is the time! She signed to Capital Records and has since posted online original track 'I Anit With You'. That received great applause and now Secaina continues to display her talent with this unique cover.
I came across this track today by London electronic soul band L O R E and I don't know how to feel about it. I love the singer's voice but there's just something about the track that draws me in and doesn't at the same time. It's super intriguing - I'm excited to see them live.
I was lucky enough to have this dropped into my inbox today. Aaron is a singer-songwriter from London who describers her music as 'Dream Pop'. She's spent the last year writing for Arlissa, Ed Thomas (LOVE), Dante (LOVE) and more but is now focusing on her own material. The track below is taking from her 'Letters To Jonny' EP due to be released this Autumn.
It's been a long time since I've heard a new decent garage song but it looks like production duo GROOZM from Amsterdam are about to change all that with their new track Have To Change. I first heard of them when they did a bootleg of Disclosure's Latch which was amazing but now they've come out with an original release on the label Bad Manor which is brilliant!
Feeling this bit of folk from London based artist Rukhsama Merrise - I actually blogged about her last year with her track Light Up The Night which she has since taken out. I'm guessing this track is a new start for Rukhsana maybe? This is the first song from her EP September songs so keep your ears open for more to come.
Happy Monday! At the start of this week I'd like to introduce you to a new artist by the name of Lula who I came across today. She's a singer songwriter from London whose already worked with Jake Gosling on a few of her tracks which sounds promising. This indie-electronic track below titled 'The Shack' is also an indication of great things to come from Lula, produced by Pete Boxsta Martin it seems to fit very well in the Ellie Goulding/Foxes realm. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this girl!
